In order to protect the heritage and character of Isleworth our planning team continually reviews planning applications, both large and small, which are relevant to the area. Where necessary, we meet with developers to state our concerns, prior to an application being submitted, and this sometimes results in plans being improved.
Where appropriate, we submit objections and, on occasions, we will support an application if it is of particular benefit to Isleworth.
In addition to the above, we also consider proposals for advertising hoardings and various utility structures which, if installed, would have an unacceptable impact on the character of the area.

A conservation area is defined as “an area of special architectural or historic interest the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance;” in the Planning (Listed Building and Conservation) Act 1990).
